This European Standard specifies minimum requirements forpower assisted respiratory protective devices which incorporatea full face mask, half mask or a quarter mask together with gas,particle or combined filter(s) used as respiratory protectivedevices. It does not cover devices designed for use in circumstanceswhere there is or might be an oxygen deficiency (concentrationin oxygen less than17% by volume). Also, it doesnot cover respiratory protective devices designed for escapepurposes.Laboratory tests and practical performance tests are includedfor the assessment of compliance with the requirements.
